Best Season

To experience The Best views, Spring (Mar-May) and Autumn (Sep-Nov) are the best seasons for the Pikey Peak trek as the weather is favorable and temperatures are stable in these months. The unstable weather and temperature, slippery trails, and only limited services are experienced during the monsoon and winter seasons. Plan wisely to trek in winter and monsoon seasons.


Altitude Sickness and Preventions

The Pikey Peak Trek has a maximum Elevation gain of 4,065 m. It is common to get altitude sickness above 2500 m and hence there is a chance of getting altitude sickness during the Pikey Peak trek. Acclimatization rest is the best way to prevent altitude sickness. We advise taking an acclimatization rest as scheduled in the itinerary during the trek.

Pikey Peak is a moderate-graded trek. It is beneficial to have a previous trekking experience. It is slightly easy for experienced trekkers and moderate for beginner trekkers. This trek is physically demanding and requires trekkers to walk long hours daily on rough trails. Trekkers can also find difficulty in the limited availability of services and comfort during the trek.

Fitness level is an important factor in trekking and demands trekkers to be in good health condition. Trekkers must be both physically and mentally fit for the Pikey Peak trek. We advise trekkers to participate in physical exercises (cardiovascular, high-intensity, etc.), and mental exercises (meditation, yoga, etc.) before starting the trek.

Day by Day Itinerary

Welcome to Nepal and our representative greets you at the International Airport. After fulfilling all the formalities, get transferred by a private vehicle to the hotel in Kathmandu. Afterward, a brief meet and discussion with a trek guide, and team. Stay overnight


The day is trek documentation preparation day. Visit our office for a brief meeting and discussion with a trek guide, and team. We shall take care of all your documentation process. There is an optional Kathmandu sightseeing tour which includes places like Kathmandu Durbar Square, Swayambhunath Stupa, Boudhanath Stupa, and Pashupatinath Temple. If you wish we can arrange it for you. (Extra Cost applies).


Pikey Peak trek begins with a scenic drive to Dhap Bazaar from Kathmandu. Relishing the countryside’s attractive changing landscapes, greenery, flowing rivers, green hills, terraced farms, small settlements, and snowy mountains reach Dhap Bazaar. Stay overnight in a teahouse.


The trek to Jhapre commences after breakfast. Walk on a comfortable trail admiring the beauty of the surroundings. Traverse Sigane village enjoying the awesome Numbur Himal ranges views. Walk through the forested trails on ascending and descending trails to arrive at Jhapre for an overnight stay.


Walk slowly as the elevation keeps on rising as we are heading toward Pikey Peak Base Camp. Follow an ascending trail to Bhulbhule and take a trail that leads to base camp. Walk past the forested trail of rhododendrons traversing several settlements and arrive at Pikey Peak Base Camp. Relish the surrounding mountain views and spend an overnight.


Wake up early to trek to Pikey Peak at an elevation of 4,065 m. Climb slowly on a steep rocky trail admiring the surroundings. After a few hours of walking reach the top of Pikey Peak. Although it is tiring, get rewarded with phenomenal views of Thamserku, Numbur Chuli, Kanchenjunga, Lhotse, Everest, etc. Capture photos and videos for memories and climb downhill slowly to Jase Bhanjyang. Stay overnight in a teahouse.


Walk through the forested trail and traverse Toktok and other beautiful settlements. After a few hours of walking arrive at the lovely Sherpa and Tamang-inhabited village of Junbesi. Stay overnight in a teahouse.


Walk on a descending trail enjoying the scenery and cross a suspension bridge made of steel. Follow the dusty trail and descend through Junbesi Khola to arrive at Beni Ghat. Traverse several settlements relishing the peaceful environment and walking on a comfortable trail to reach Phaplu. Stay overnight in a teahouse.


The trek is over and return to Kathmandu in a local vehicle and get transferred to the hotel. Join us for a farewell dinner in the evening. Stay overnight.
