Day by Day Itinerary

Fly to Bhutan and land at the world’s extreme Paro International Airport as the scheduled flight (morning or evening).  Get welcomed by our representative and get transferred to the capital Thimphu. A scenic drive to Thimphu takes about 1.5 hours and gets transferred to the hotel for an overnight stay.

Our full-day Thimphu sightseeing begins with a visit to the National Memorial Chorten which has a design of Tibetan-style architecture. A significant Chorten looks impressive with its golden spires and bells. Next, visit Bhutan Post Office Headquarters which houses the world’s largest photo book and impressive collection of Bhutanese stamps. You can also get a well-designed customized stamp print of your self-picture. Then, head to Tashichho Dzong fortress which is a popular Buddhist monastery next to the bank of the Wang Chhu River. The sightseeing ends with a visit to Kuensel Phodrang which is renowned for its huge Great Buddha Dordenma statue, the largest statue in Bhutan. It is the best place to observe the Thimphu city view. Stay overnight in a hotel.

Wake up, have breakfast, and transfer to Punakha relishing a scenic drive that takes about 2 hours. On mid-way, stop at Dochu La Pass to witness the phenomenal snow-covered Himalayas including Bhutan’s highest Gangkhar Puensum (7570 m). Also, pay homage to Druk Wangyal Chortens which is built in honor of 108 Bhutanese soldiers killed in the war battle. Continue to drive to Punakha and transfer to the hotel for light snacks or lunch. Visit the beautiful Punakha Dzong and Bhutan’s longest suspension bridge over the Po Chu River. Next, visit the Fertility Temple of Bhutan, Chhimi Lakhang. The temple is devoted to the Divine Madman and is widely worshipped due to a belief in blessing childless couples with a baby. Stay overnight in a hotel.

After breakfast, return to Paro from Punakha and get transferred to the hotel. Today, visit the oldest Kyichu Lhakhang Temple in Bhutan. This temple is sacred and has great religious significance. It is believed that this temple was built to stop evil spirits from preventing the spreading of Buddhism across Tibet. It houses the holy Jowo Rinpoche sculpture. Next, head to Paro Dzong also known as Rinpung Dzong. The prime highlight of this Dzong is its impressive Bhutanese architecture. This Dzong means Fortress on a Heap of Jewels. After a short excursion return to the hotel for an overnight stay.

Paro Sightseeing starts with an adventurous hike to Tiger’s Nest Monastery. A well-known monastery which is a sacred site and the most-visited landmark in Bhutan. It is also known as Taktsang Monastery and is perched on the Cliffside of the Upper Paro Valley.  A hike takes about 2 hours to get to the top which is demanding but fruitful as it offers stunning scenery and view of Paro Valley. Climb slowly and stop halfway for a short break for refreshment. Continue to hike and arrive at our destination where it is a belief that Buddhist Guru Rinpoche has meditated for 3 years to calm down the evil spirits. It is a sacred site so strictly follow the guidelines of dress codes. Make sure to wear full-sleeved clothes and remove shoes to enter the monastery. Explore the monastery, meet and interact with the monks, and meditate for a while in the serene environment. After completing the exploration, slowly descend and return to the hotel. The evening is free so explore on your own. Stay overnight in a hotel.

An amazing 6-day Bhutan tour comes to an end. Our representative will transfer you to Paro International Airport for the final departure. We wish you a safe journey. Happy Travels.
