Tibet is the world’s highest region with an average elevation of 4,380 m in Central East Asia. Tibet, globally famous as the ‘Roof of the World’ is an autonomous region under the administration of China. Tibetan Buddhism is highly practiced here and Tibetan lifestyle and cuisine are unique to explore. Lhasa is the capital of Tibet and has several cultural landmarks including the renowned Potala Palace. Numerous Buddhist monasteries, tranquil lakes, beautiful Tibetan settlements, scenic landscapes, and snow-covered peaks are beautiful attractions in Tibet. Potala Palace, Norbulingka Palace, Mt. Everest, Mount Kailash, Mansarovar Lake, Rongbuk Monastery, and Yamdrok Lake are some notable landmarks in Tibet. Spring (Mar-May) and Autumn (Sep-Nov) are the best seasons to travel to Tibet and it is possible to do in the Summer (Jun-Aug) season as well.
