Nepal is a small landlocked sovereign nation with an area of 1,47,516 sq. km in South Asia. It is surrounded by India in the east, west, and south, and Tibet (autonomous region of China) in the north. Nepal is a geographically and culturally distinct nation with biodiversity in nature, culture, and traditions. Nepal is famous as the ‘Land of the Himalayas’. Nepal is famous for trekking and climbing mountains as there is Himalayan dominance. It is home to 8 mountain peaks above 8000 m including the world’s tallest Mount Everest (8848.86 m). There are 10 UNESCO World Heritage Sites in Nepal among them 8 are cultural heritages and 2 are national parks. Nepal has several natural and cultural attractions and there is something for everyone.
